New Baby

Well, the baby is here after a relatively short and powerful entry into this world. Thanks for your prayers. Kimberly was born at 7:45 P.M after 4 hours (from the onset of the first regular contraction), though the real "fun" was only about 2 hours. There were no complcations and aside from slight tearing, I am recovering quite nicely (please keep me in your prayers). One happy fact is that our new one doesn`t seem to do too much aside from sleep. She didn`t even cry when she was born..and hardly ever cries now. Quite a far cry from our first 2 (who would scream their heads off every few hours and would want to nurse 24/7)..which is oh so nice, as I actually got to sleep a bit last night (in between the after contractions, of course). Anyways, here are some happy pictures.
The happy couple before... The happy mommy after (a couple seconds after delivery) with the calm purple newborn
Another, "right after" shot
The happy family with the new one (minus mommy, who was utterly exhausted and in bed)..
2 hours after delivery; oh so calm
Guess who`s hands?

Ah another member of the Kato clan! Congratulations to both you parents. I'm thrilled that everything went well, and that she's taking it easy on you (for now).

Will have to head out there sometime to see the new addition. A heartfelt 'otsukaresama' to Mary for putting in all the hard hours for 9 months, now feel free to make Aiki put in his time!

Thanks for all the well-wishes..yes I think she looks like an in between of Kate and Kristy when they were born. We have a Japanese name Arina..any ideas for the kanjis??

June 10, 2009 12:52 AM

We decided to go with "Sayuri" for her Japanese name. We like "Arina" better but it doesn't have any meaning...unless you go with the kanjis that mean "possession of greens (veggies)" which sounds ridiculous.

Woohoo! Congrats Mary and Aiki. #3..way to go!!

It’s difficult to get a good meaning for a Na name, esp. if you use 菜。
You could try with 奈 or 納

But Sayuri is a beautiful name (think Memoirs of a Geisha).

So much love to you both, and to darling little Kimberly! Mary you are gorgeous, and many women the world over would DIE to look like you just seconds after bringing a new baby into the world. Well, Aiki has his work cut out with three darling daughters! Sayuri is such a pretty name.......I might steal it. Heh. Of course I can't change my name for another few years. Lol. I love you - 'chelle XXX
